As one monitors discussions on the various forums, it's clear that photographers worldwide would like their cameras to create DNG files sooner rather than later. Jeff Schewe commented to me last week that a petition could be a good thing to help accelerate adoption of the standard.
I was involved with the petition in the 90's that moved browser standards forward, and saw the beneficial impact it generated.
With that in mind, here is our petition. Please "sign" it, and forward the link to others that might benefit from DNG adoption!! We will present it to all the major camera manufacturers.
The RAW format needs to be standardized.

Steve, this is a great initiative. I've heard you got over 10,000 signatures, congratulations.
I've decided that this issue needs to be reinforced and revived... I've started a new petition to encourage manufacturers to continue working with Adobe on the DNG format. I'm not trying to divide support, by starting a new petition I'm hoping this will underscore your hard work.
