Problem with Mac OS X Preview and PSE3

A recent problem was found when copying a .PDF file to the clipboard in the application Preview in Mac OS X. Photoshop Elements 3.0 stops functioning. The workaround, or fix, for this is to copy something else to the clipboard from another application. Oddly enough, PSE3 resumes activity again.
